Question & Answer
Do I need a makeup & hair artist?
The simple answer to that would be 'no', but should you get one? That's a different story. Chances are you've invested a lot of time and money into your wedding already, but after the cake is eaten, the flowers have wilted and the dress is put away, the only thing left will be the pictures. You want those pictures to capture the best possible version of yourself on such a significant day---- it is not just any day! Invest in an artist that can make you look and feel wonderful.
What is a trial, do I need one?
A trial is not required, but highly recommended. Trials are held at my home studio in Rodeo, CA and lasts 2-3 hours. It's a good chance for us to meet and talk about your needs. We then try up to two looks to gauge what would look best for your wedding day.
When should I schedule a trial?
A trial is best scheduled 2-3 months before your wedding and best not to do it sooner than 6 months before. A friend is welcome to come with you to the trial.
I hardly wear any makeup what if I don't look like myself?
Our clientele is mainly comprised of women who are very natural and it has become our specialty to cater to those needs. It's important to be open-minded, but honest and true to yourself during the trial. In any case, you are never obligated or pressured into booking our services.
How long does everything take?
Each wedding party is different and once the numbers are finalized, I will be able to determine the best fit in terms of timing and assistants. I will spend 2-3 hours on the bride and my assistants will spend 1- 1:15 on additional ladies.
What do I need to do in order to book your services?
A signed contract and deposit are both needed to book our services. In addition, a timeline should be worked out with your photographer and coordinator before a contract can be provided.
Are discounts provided for larger parties?
Unfortunately, we do not provide discounts because large parties require assistants and are just as much work and if not more work for us to coordinate and accommodate.
I'm not sure if my wedding party wants hair and makeup, will I be able to add them later?
The ladies who know for sure can be added onto the contract with the deposit paid accordingly. Otherwise services can be added up to 30 days before the wedding based on availability of time and assistants.
What is airbrush foundation?
Airbrushing is a technique using a compressor and specially formulated foundation to mist across your skin to create a thin layer of makeup. The result is long lasting light-weight and comfortable. Is it for everyone? Not necessarily it really depends on what is important to you. If your skin is overall great and all you need is to be evened out a bit, then airbrushing works great. If you have more problematic skin, than traditional foundation may be the way to go since it offers more coverage.
How do hair extensions work and do I need them?
Hair extensions add length and volume to your natural hair. Women who have thinner and/or short hair, may consider extensions to have more options. It adds fullness to down-dos and updos. Hair extensions must be purchased by the client and be of appropriate color and length. They should be the clip-on extensions and be human hair.
